SWSR are getting ready for our upcoming bout at Penrith against WSR's Team Zombies !

With SWSR joing forces with CKO, we decided it would only be fitting to have a new joint team logo / shirt made up for our bout in a few short days.

Once again our very own talented resident artist and skater, Lady_Lowbrow (Kimakaze) has put together this amazing design to be worn by our skaters and CKO members participating in this joint bout at Penrith against WSR !!

With only limited shirts being printed, a few will be available at our bout for purchase, if you would like your own Fresh and Furious shirt, be sure to get to the bout, or contact us now to purchase the sizing of your choice before they all go !

Roller Derby Bout !!

SWSR are getting excitied ! we are going to be a part of this years Grand final intraleague bouts against WSR's teams;

See the Western Sydney Rollers 'Hellfire Honeys' taking on the 'Circuit Breakers' for their Grand Final of 2013!! With SWSR showcasing our skills in the pre mini bout agasint WSR's Team Zombies

 SWSR will be battling it out with CKO before the big game in a Mini Bout against WSRs team 'The Zombies' ...

 Be there August 24th from 5pm to see SWSR/CKO in the first bout at 6pm 

SWSR and CKOs 'Fresh and Furious' against The Zombies and then onto the finals!!

Australias Got Talent!

Be sure to be watching South West Sydney resident Paul Nunnari, wheelchair superhero stuntman and paraolympion silver medalist , looking awesome in South West Sydney Rockets Roller Derby league shirt on hit tv show Australias Got Talent !

Paul known as "The Other Superman" will be on channel 9, Australias Got Talent Program this Sunday (August 18th) from 6.30pm 

 Paul is an inspiration to everyone, and all South West Sydney Residents should get behind Paul and show your support and vote for this amazing Wheelchair stunt man Paraolympian !

Be watching on the 18th ! And VOTE VOTE VOTE !!

TODAY SHOW HIGHLIGHTS !

 It was an early rise for the ladies of SWSR who drove across town to meet with Today show weather host Steve Jacobs for the live weather crosses !

 

We arrive at Sydney UTS with the moon still out and the sun not up, lucky the weather was nice, and with all the girls getting to skate around the new (temporary) Roller Rink at UTS we all warmed up pretty soon !!

 The Team at the Today show were wonderful, and Steve was happy to chat and pose for pipctures with us.

We were able to see what happens behind the scences, watch some other fantastic skaters, have an amazing buffet breakfast, and show our roller derby skills to the people of Australia that were watching

 

 Once the Sun came out, we warmed up even more, and had four live crosses during our morning with the crew.

UTS did an amazing job putting down the "Skate Court" provided by Maz Arena, allowing the university students, and residents of Sydney participate in the joy and art of Roller Skating !

 Hire skates are available from the Roller rink, and tickets can be pre purchased if you would like to skate on this rink !

With only a short time at UTS be sure to get there soon if you would like to roll, otherwise you may miss out

 We had a great time messing around, showing off our crazy skills, and chatting to other skaters who showed up in the morning.

The weather host Steve also took time out of his busy filming to get some happy snaps taken with some of the girls

ROLL UP FUNDRAISER HIGHLIGHTS

SWSR would like to send a huge shout out to all of our supporters, family and friends who came along to our SWSR ERRD Fundraiser !

 Many a SWSR raffle ticket buyer went home with some fantastic prizes !

Roll Up Roll Up !

SWSR will be participating in this years ERRD Tournament (Eastern Region Rollr Derby" with skaters from leagues all across NSW, we will be batteling it out in the B division, going against some tough competition.

In order to get our team to Central oast for this once a year event, we are asking you to come down to The Bradbury on August 10th, for a night of raffles, music, great food and tasty drinks !

Celebrate SWSR's first year of participating in the ERRD and come down to The Bradbury, who knows, you may just go home taking away some amazing prizes.

While your sleeping in your warm beds tonight, spare a tonight for those who are not so fortunate ...

SWSR are supporting the homeless in this years winter sleep-out in August ! 

The Rockettes will be sleeping under the stars.

Skate Hard.. With a Vengance Highlights

 With SWSR looking to roll into a bout this year, some of the team went to Canberra over the weekend to bout in our first bout for the year, with a mixed team from SWSR and sister league CKO, we teamed up to skate against Canberra's Varsity Rollers who are a great league with some extrondinary girls !
