B..B…B...BOUT NIGHT !!

THAT’S RIGHT ITS BOUT NIGHT and SWSR have some exciting news for all our family, friends and Fans…..

SWSR HAVE ENDED OUR FIRST EVER BOUT VICTORIOUS !!

What a remarkable way to end an exciting, fast paced, bout with a group of amazing skaters from South Island Sirens, who kept us on our toes for both halves, creating walls of steel, it was one close game, such an exciting bout to be a part of, and SWSR can not thank the ladies of South Island Sirens for putting on such an awesome event for us to skate in.

The pre bout between the wonderful ladies of Van Diemen Rollers also proved to be a great fast game, with the Van Diemen Rollers; team ‘Jam Tarts’ taking on “Infectious” it was the Jam Tarts who ended the night with an amazing win – the first ever against team Infectious…Congratulations ladies <3

Bout Highlights of the night:

It was a very close game against The All Scars and The South Island Sirens, with the first half proving to be more difficult than the second.

With temperatures not quite what we were used to in NSW, some of the South West Sydney Rockets were finding it difficult to even feel there toes !!

The Stadium did let us down on the cold front, with no heaters in sight, we were pleased to have decided to wear our long tights on the night…

Jamming for SWSR’s “All Scars”Team Tassie were Ann O’War, Kimakaze, Metho Betho & Lil’ Tamtrum. All Jammers did an amazing job, breaking through the ever present walls of the South Island sirens.

There were many Jammer highlights, but the most memorable was with Ann O’War amassing a number of points with a 2 minute PowerJam.

In the first half the South Island Sirens Jammer was the first Jammer to be sent to the bin allowing us to obtain a power jam, and South West Sydney Rockets were finally sent into the lead which is where we fought to stay all night, taking some big hits from the blockers of SIS.

As our motto states “Blood, Sweat & Bruises” the girls of both SWSR and SIS left the stadium that night with a bit of all three… the night of a fast and ferocious game, with SWS remaining on top and to take home victory !.

Final Score – SIS 123 With SWSR 138 - taking home the win !!

There were a lot of thrills and spills and tumbles throughout the bout, with some great photos being taken of the night. Some Tasmanian Photographers have taken an array of images capturing the excitement of the night !
