Blood Sweat and Bruises – Issue #351

SWSR were excited last year to be asked to participate in a story and photo-shoot for Australian “OzBike” magazine, with the amazing talent of Chris Nilsson, the photo-shoot would not have turned out as great as it did.

FLOOD RELIEF ON THE FLAT TRACK

As part of the Eastern Region Roller Derby Smack Down (the first ever being held in September 2010, between leagues in NSW WIRD, WSR, SRDL & CRDL battling it out for glory).

More leagues have now joined forces and The Ladies of the ERRD have come together for the first “Booty Boot Camp” hosted by WSR, with the support of WIRD, SRDL, NRDL, and participation of SWSR, CRDL & MARD

the organising leagues brought together some of the finest ladies and men from around Oz the teach the New South Welsh ladies some new skills, tricks and strategies to take back home to our leagues

With the likes of the amazing Vaderella from ADRD,

Kitty DeCapitate, Bezerker and Rocky Rouge from VRDL

Mick and Mark from SSRG

Along with the help of many Refs and NSO’s the booty camp and Flood Relief Bout was a huge success;

As part of the booty camp, the special guest’s where invited to select a bunch of girls from the various leagues to skate in the Saturday night bout “Flood Relief on the Flat Track”

With proceeds of the ticket sales going to the unfortunate victims of the floods.

SWSR would like to send a heart felt hug to all those who have been effected by the floods, in QLD, VIC and TAS, we hope you all get back on your feet really soon x

2010 Awards Presentation

With all the hard work and dedication all the girls at SWSR put in throughout the year, we felt it was necessary to start a new tradition in our league, with our first ever "Trophy Awards Presentation" taking place at our Christmas get together.

With our first first year ending, SWSR have come a long way, and with 2010 ending and a new year beginning we wanted to put together this awards day to show our appreciation to each and every SWSR member of our wonderful league.

These trophies were put together and voted on by the skaters for the skaters, with fellow peers voting on each category.

SWSR wish they could have awards all members a trophy, however all members know they are very much appreciated, and the committee at SWSR could not ask for a better bunch of girls to skate with.

You all have done so amazing well, progressing beyond expectations, you all should be very proud of yourselves!!! and cant wait to see you all excel again in 2011 !!

SWSR Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser !!



South West Sydney Rockets Roller Derby league had a fun day serving all our hungry customers on Sunday the 11th of December 2010.


The BBQ was cooking the sun was shining and our customers and supporters came in droves.

The money which we raised on the day at Bunnings (Cross Roads, Casula NSW) was a huge help to our league, in strengthening us more financially to ensure our first season of 2011 is going to be a success.


Thank you so much to our family, friends, supporters, and Bunnings customers who came to visit us and purchase some yummy sausage sandwich's make by us :)

Dita Von Bruiser
in the Fairfield City Champion !!!

South West Sydney Rockets very own
Dita Von Bruiser appeared in local Newspaper
"Fairfield City Champion"

On December 8th 2010, to discuss all things Derby !
Dita was an SWSR Red Bull Roller Rager who participated in a Derby Skills comp in QLD seeing SWSR take home 3rd place.

Dita Von Bruiser is also one of SWSR's star Pivots !!
