It was an early rise for the ladies of SWSR who drove across town to meet with Today show weather host Steve Jacobs for the live weather crosses !
We arrive at Sydney UTS with the moon still out and the sun not up, lucky the weather was nice, and with all the girls getting to skate around the new (temporary) Roller Rink at UTS we all warmed up pretty soon !!
The Team at the Today show were wonderful, and Steve was happy to chat and pose for pipctures with us.
We were able to see what happens behind the scences, watch some other fantastic skaters, have an amazing buffet breakfast, and show our roller derby skills to the people of Australia that were watching
Once the Sun came out, we warmed up even more, and had four live crosses during our morning with the crew.
UTS did an amazing job putting down the "Skate Court" provided by Maz Arena, allowing the university students, and residents of Sydney participate in the joy and art of Roller Skating !
Hire skates are available from the Roller rink, and tickets can be pre purchased if you would like to skate on this rink !
With only a short time at UTS be sure to get there soon if you would like to roll, otherwise you may miss out
We had a great time messing around, showing off our crazy skills, and chatting to other skaters who showed up in the morning.
